Thanks everyone! Unfortunately I'm spending the next hour of my birthday at the doctors office. A fever and cough for 4 days cannot be good thing.

Lemon juice, honey, two fingers of brandy and the painkiller of your choice, topped up with a splash of hot water.
May not actually cure anything but if you have enough of them you'll probably cease to care.

That's how I spent my birthday as well. No fun copying my lousy example. Be well. Maybe we should have Hughie should bring you some chicken soup.

At any rate, hope you feel better and can enjoy your birthday. A drink or two might not be a bad thing. Hey, worked for me.

Drink looooads of tea and have pleeeenty of rest, that's always my advice against a cold. Simple, but always effective. And you should start by staying away from the computer.

I wasn't feeling well on my birthday either (though not as bad as you are ) but my friend was to take me out to a really nice lunch and I didn't want to cancel at the last minute. It's a good thing I didn't -- she'd arranged for several of my friends to surprise me there and we had a great time. A little wine always helps and just the company made me feel so much better.

Thank you all again! You're wishes made a crappy sick day, better.
