Deb on Martha Stewart

Not exactly Hugh, but Deb is going to be on the Martha Stewart Show on Wednesday Jan. 27. In the NYC area, it airs NBC at 11 a.m. I'm sure Hugh will come up.

Ohhhh that's kind of exciting!!! It would be awesome if more people in America knew about her and her greatness. And looks like it coincides with Hugh's Sesame street.

I don't get Sesame Street until Thursday morning (I think Wednesday it's on the HDTV stations but I can't tape that). I'm sure Martha is going to have to explain exactly who she is.

That's kinda' cool though. I don't know quite why she's going to be on there, mind. I assume she's not plugging something acting-related. Maybe it's some face-time for the adoption stuff she's involved with, given as it mentions games for kids?

It's "family craft day" or somesuch and she's doing some kind of paper crafty thing according to the description - I just assumed it was because she's a friend of Martha. It will be interesting to see how she's introduced since the general public has no idea who she is.

Well I'm guessing the phrase "Wife of Hugh Jackman" will be included in there somewhere...

I have two PBS stations - so even though channel 13 won't show it until Thursday (unless they magically stop being a day behind) I can still see it on the other channel on Wednesday - the funny thing is, I have two channels that show Martha Stewart too, because my cable gets all the channels from Albany and NYC because I live right in the middle of those places.

I have more than two PBS stations! I have channel 13, plus I get the Trenton station and the Long Island station, plus the HD PBS stations, which I think show it on Wednesday, but I can't tape those.

And yeah, "wife of Hugh Jackman" is probably a given but I wonder what else will be said.

I'm guessing there will be mention of adoption campaigning and stuff. I guess I can't really see Deb wanting to gussy up and go on TV unless she has something she wants to talk about, she doesn't seem the type to be on TV just for the sake of being on TV.

I agree it'll be something adoption related, with a little Hugh sprinkled in there.

Of course. He's the the perfect dessert topping.

Well yeah, there is that.

I hope they only mention "the wife of Hugh Jackman" once, so people know who she is, and they don't continue to talk about him. She deserves to be her own person. Unless she embelishes a story the same way her husband does, they it could be fun.

LOL Yeah, she could pay him back for all his "my wife always sleeps in the cinema, my wife always let her phone on, even in the theatre ..." - stories. LOL

I'm just curious, wasn't Martha Stewart arrested or even in jail for some time? And she has still her tv show??

As I recall, she made ponchos for her fellow inmates, was released after a relatively short term for insider trading, and because most people have short memories and/or don't care about such things, her popularity remained intact, even with jabs from the late-night comics.

Re payback, doesn't she always relate how the only thing handy about Hugh is that he lives with her?

A thought: Maybe he'll sit in the audience in disguise so as not to steal her thunder. Half kidding.

Thanx for the info about Martha Stewart. There were some reports about her arrest even in our news here, but I couldn't remember any details.

Yeah LOL. Maybe he wants to be sure she doesn't tell any stories about him if he sits in the audience, even in disguise LOL

I know Deb's said before he's useless around the house and she's the one with the tool kit.

Though I would hazard that he's also handy for reaching things down off high shelves and possibly opening jars...


As to Martha, yeah, she was on house-arest for a while as well if I remember rightly. But it was for corporate/financial crimes rather than anything especially exciting. If it had been properly scandalous people would be more likely to remember but it was all to do with dubious business dealings.

Martha actually served time in prison, not on house arrest.

She was also on house arrest for six months. She had to remain inside her home except for 48 hours a week for food shopping, etc. and always wear a monitoring ankle bracelet.

This show is a different one than the show she had before she went to prison too - that one was not done before a studio audience, but filmed on a set made to look like her Westport, Connecticut farmhouse.

Deb had her portrait of Oscar on display on the Martha Stewart show. Stunning. It's museum quality.

Looking forward to seeing that...
