I'm guessing there's going to be a video here at some point soon.

Re: Deb on Martha Stewart
Martha referred to her daughter living in the sister building of the Meier twins. (I guess Martha gave the place to her) She also mentioned the wonderful holiday party at the Jackmans. GREAT drinks mentioned first, good food (Jean George says Deb) and Fabulous guests.
Deb said she loves to entertain- the prep gets her psyched and the house gets tidy.
While making her project with Martha, Deb said "Hugh is crafty too".
Martha asked about writing love letters to Hugh when he's away and she said they travel together but otherwise stay in touch with Skype.

The painting is in a Renaissance style and Oscar (with his newsboy hat on ) didn't pose ("she couldn't get him to sit still for 2 seconds"). She worked on it in the evenings with a glass of wine for 7 months.

Yeah, #1 reason I prefer to work from photos. Photos don't fidget.

Re: Deb on Martha Stewart
Maybe she could get her husband to pose....naked...and share her artistic talents with the rest of the class....for the art of it, right LT?

Oh yeah, it's all good if it's in the name of art...

Something tells me he couldn't sit still for 2 seconds either.

That's not reason for her to stop, I've seen her with the shiny digital SLR...

You two can do lunch, talk about art, and I'll keep her husband busy.

Re: Deb on Martha Stewart
Yeah, she said "Hugh is crafty" and I wondered if I should take that as Hugh with glue, yarn, paint and pipe cleaners "crafty" or Hugh being cunning and clever "crafty". Maybe both.

He was quite crafty when decorating shoes and wooden puppets and other misc sundry stuff for charity auctions in the past...

So, what with Deb's memory game and Hugh's "word of the day," they're both playing "Concentration." Looking forward to catching this on my hopelessly outdated but still functional VCR.

Her painting of Oscar was amazing. I like that the food she can't live without is french fries!

Little late here, but I thought it was funny when at the beginning everybody handed the boiled peanuts back to the Lee Brothers. Nobody was interested. I know it must be a southern thing, but boiled peanuts? I like Deb's french fries and the other woman's pie and cheese better. Deb's painting of Oscar is excellent, and I liked how they didn't mention whose wife she is right at the beginning.

Re: Deb on Martha Stewart
I might be in the minority here, but I think she *should* have mentioned who she was right at the beginning, because guaranteed no one in the audience knew who she was. I bet most of them said "never heard of her" when Martha said she was an actress. *ducks*
That painting was gorgeous - when is she going to start one of Ava I wonder. And the family photo that was shown was really nice too! That was new also.

I wanted to send her a clippee for her hair, it was annoying me that she kept having to push it back. Other than that, I thought it was a nice segment. And Kristin, it's a new crafty thing for you to do at the shore on a rainy day.

Maybe it's a memory lapse, but I don't remember ever hearing anything about Deb's being a painter. Have any of her other works been publicly displayed?

Re: Deb on Martha Stewart
I've read a few times that she paints and of course we've caught Hugh with the art store haul a couple times. But I've never seen the end result until today. Hugh should have been raving more about how really talented she is in that regard.

True, I was stunned at the impressive work on that canvas.

Re: Deb on Martha Stewart
Whenever actors describe themselves as artists, I fully expect to see some primitive impressionistic splattering. (I know there are exceptions). So a nice surprise from Deb.
Poor Martha obviously read her notes and assumed Deb was a Wolverine producer by virtue of her Seed partnership. Deb says flat out no. No elaboration to help explain why Martha was mislead.

I know there was an interview somewhere a while back that mentioned she was painting a picture of Oscar. I assume it's the one they showed.
